The Dark Side of the Dalai Lama

Westerners get googly-eyed for the man, but should they?

“This idea that he is just a humble man in a robe, and a prayer bead, isn’t really what the Dalai Lama is all about. He headed a social system that was exploitative, terribly unequal, and terribly brutal”

Rampant pedophilia and sexual abuse of young monks goes unaddressed in Tibetan Buddhism:

The Dalai Lama is a political leader, not a spiritual leader. In his own words, he is a “simple monk”. He has determined that Dorje Shugden, worshiped for centuries by entire regions of Tibet, is a demon, and the Dalai Lama has banned the worship of Dorje Shugden, causing great suffering and hardship for the Tibetan people.

  1. The Huff Post religion always lets Thurman and cronies have complete say, and the things to know about Shugdens articles is basically a load of crap. Try http://www.areBuddhistsracist.com and DorjeShugden.com (the latter comes highly recommended, by the emertitus head of the Dalai Lama’s school, who once he stepped down, went off to a Shugden monestary.) Also, Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyasto wrote a letter of support for DorjeShugden.com

  2. Thank you for the support. You’re right, there are a lot of issues here. Westerners are so infatuated with the DL, I just hope they can see the truth when exposed to it.
